Product Description
Mitsubishi's LaserVue Laser TV harnesses the power of the world's purest light source to deliver two times the color of many of today's HDTVs. Laser beams provide an extensive range of rich, complex colors, truly distinct clarity, and immersive depth of field. LaserVue sets the new standard for large screen television by delivering unimaginable color at approximately one third the operating power consumption of similarly-sized LCD TVs and one fourth of plasmas. LaserVue also comes equipped with 3D-ready viewing technology. Mitsubishi LaserVue...Simply the Greatest Picture on the Planet!

Checked out this TV today in the store, picture looks nice but I've seen Plasmas that look pretty much the same for a third of the price. Don't waste your money, wait till the price comes down.

After all the hype and delayed production(this set was supposed to be out over a year ago)the laservue has landed with a mighty thud. I viewed two different sets and was totally underwhelmed by them. The colors were garish especially the reds. The overall picture seemed to have these sparkles which were very annoying. And the price! 7K for what is nothing more than a DLP with lasers . Unbelievable that Mitsubishi thinks that this will sell to the public( especially in this present economy) which has seemed to want flat panels and their shrinking price points. Even Mits own DLP's are a much better bargin. If you must have a big screen, check out the 65 or 73 835 model. Great set for a lot less. Laservue-D.O.A.!!

Best picture available...   December 12, 2008

I don't actually own one, but I have seen the picture in person and it is breathtaking. If money is no object for you, then please, go ahead and buy it. But if you can be patient, you should be able to buy one for at least half the price in two years. These tv's actually cost less to manufacture than plasma's and LCD's. Like any new whiz-bang product, they jack the price up to ridiculous levels on introduction to farm the rich people that can't wait, then on to the next tier and so on until they finally hit the schlubs like us. When it hits 3 grand for the 65 incher (probably in two years) I'm gonna pull the trigger and get one. My 4 year old 65" Mitsubishi 1080i rear projection will do me just fine 'till then.

Best picture I have ever seen period. It will be a long time before anything can compare to the laser vue screen.

Was looking forward to purchasing this TV and what does Mitsubishi do? They have a platform that is easier to manufacture -- has fewer parts -- and they decide to start out at that insane price! I'm evaluating the product in light of the price and some people may disagree with that type of assessment but... guess what... we do that all the time. For example, if you evaluated electric can openers on Amazon and they generally ran under $20.00 and there was one that had a nice feature but was $40.00 -- the evaluation would need to be low. Still, if you want an isolated review, considering only the picture quality, you know this TV gets all stars. I have the spot for the 65" to replace my aging rear projection TV. I'm so mad at Mitsubishi I could spit!!! This TV is at $2,000.00 over-priced. I'd be mad but probably pay close to $5,000.00 but NO WAY on $7,000.00 -- are they insane?
