Product Description With High Definition broadcast fast approaching, Panasonic's LM-BR50DE Blu-ray disc has been launched to satisfy the needs of those who are looking for high quality, high definition recording.Blu-ray discs are able to record and playback extensive quantities of high definition video and audio, as well as photos, data and other video content. A single-layer Blu-ray disc, which is the same size as a DVD, can hold up to a staggering 50 GB of data (in comparison to a single layer DVD which holds 4.7GB) - that's more than four hours of high-definition video or about 26 hours of standard video with no loss of quality.Blu-ray discs enable you to instantly skip to any spot on the disc and create, edit or re-order programmes and play lists, thus enabling easy navigation around the discs. What' s more, you can watch one programme whilst recording another, Panasonic's Blu-ray discs offer the ultimate in flexible DVD recordingPanasonic's LM-BR50DE write once discs uses an inorganic material which is unaffected by light, thus ensuring safe and long-lasting storage of cherished keepsakes.Adding to this durability, Panasonic Blu-ray discs use an advanced spin coating process technology to form the cover layer with extremely uniform thickness. This is the key element for stable and premium data recording. The discs also have a hard coated cover layer, which is a newly developed surface-treatment technology.

| Customer Reviews The truth about these Blu-ray disks May 10, 2008 Kent Roorda (Denver, CO United States) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have used these disks with absolutely no problem. The problem with the previous reviewer is that he/she tried to burn a Blu-ray disk on a Standard DVD Player/Burner. You can't do that! You must have a Blu-ray burner to burn a Blu-ray disk! As with other Hi Defination devices, it is usually the "user" that is at fault, rather than the product. For instance, many people [still] believe that just because they own a HDTV, they will see HD programming. Not so! The same goes for Blu-ray. Just because you bought a blank Blu-ray disk doesn't automatically give you the ability to burn a Blu-ray disk. Both Sony and Panasonic make some very nice Blu-ray computer drives which can both read and write Blu-ray disks. They aren't cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for.
Problem writing to these. January 18, 2008 J. Fernandes 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
Bought two of these to make backups of some work data and had problems writing to both. Since they are write once, it was a waste of money. Should have paid the extra for re-writable. The burner worked fine with the re-writable disc I purchased.
